I'd bench noble simply because he looked knackered most of the game against Bournemouth and could use a rest. Jelavic makes it very difficult for us to go forward. He's slow for a goalkeeper, let alone a striker.

Team will be very similiar to Tuesday night - With the obvs exception of Carroll out

The good news is it looks like the bench will be more experienced and thats not a bad thing when your far from home in some desolute destitute run down rabble of a town where the dialect is uncomprehendable, the weather miserable and fans besotted due the lack of anything else in their lives

Would like to see Antonio given a go upfront as I think he could do a similar job as sakho, but his work rate defensively is so much better than moses so would keep him in midfield

Re: Team for Newcastle?
Not sure how anyone can drop Collins when he has been our stand-out player over the past 8 games or so. The bloke has been fucking immense, I don't care if he's prone to the odd fuck up (like most players), he stays in for me. Reid will have to fight his way back in.

As someone else said, our squad depth is very enviable.

The team doctor on the official site said Kouyate and Zarate could play "some part" in the Newcastle match so may well be they won't start.

I agree with Pards, although i was slagging off Valencia at HT on Tuesday.

I don't think Jelavic's all round game is anywhere near the required level now, but would still fancy him to finish if had a good chance or two.

Jelavic is shit. Valencia can play as a striker and would do much better.

Adrian
Tomkins Collins Ogbonna Cresswell
Noble Kouyate
Moses Payet Antonio
Valencia

Payet will thrive with the pace around him to feed off his vision.

SB: "Andy Carroll has a scan today at 10.30, so we will wait for that. It's his hamstring, it's something in between a big and little one. Of course we will be cautious, and it is a blow for us because he was looking really sharp. He'll be back soon and he won't lose much. If everything goes well he will be back very soon so there is no reason to be negative.

We want to continue the unbeaten run. First of all you are motivated enough with the Premier League. We're playing well and want to continue looking up the table.

Victor Moses started to train with the team the day before Bournemouth, so he's available. Cheikhou Kouyate missed the game against Bournemouth, he was at about 85% so we rested him a little bit.

Zarate also, he felt a bit before the Bournemouth game, but it was just kind of a cramp so he's training today.

We are thinking only about the game on Saturday and if we get a result then the bar is going to stay where it is or even go higher. Newcastle had a slow start, it is a new team with a new manager. A massive club which in recent times has had difficult seasons."

Re: Team for Newcastle?
Not convinced with a Kouyate Obiang pairing in midfield. West Brom at home was poor and we missed the skipper big time. If Kouyate comes back in it's for Obiang which would be harsh after the other night.

Re: Team for Newcastle?
Spot on, Hermy son. If we can get Adrian to just throw the ball to Payet, he can then just constantly go forward with it and we'll win every game.
